Breaking: INEC Rejects Appeal By AGF To Postpone Elections In Zamfara

By Michael Paul

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said there is no going back on elections in the entire 36 States, including the FCT

Sources within the Commission told Ivotesng.com that the leadership of the INEC has also rejected appeal by the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN) to postpone the Zamfara elections.

Ivotesng.com reports that Malami had written to the INEC asking the Commission to postpone the National Assembly elections and the governorship and state House of Assembly polls in Zamafara State to enable the All Progressives Congress (APC) to field candidates in the exercise in the state.

Malami, in the letter, said his appeal was informed by a petition he received from the law firm of M.A Mahmud & Co. He anchored his request for the postponement of the elections in Zamfara State on a judgment of the Sokoto Division of the Court of Appeal.
