INEC To Conduct Runoff Election In Imo

Osagbemi Anthony

The Governorship Election in Imo state has taken a new turn, as no candidate was able to meet the 25 percent in two thirds of the Local Government Areas of the state.

In view of the above, Imo will prepare for runoff election, as none of the candidate met the constitutional requirement for the Gubernatorial seat.

The results of the Imo state governorship election from the 27 local government areas have been announced by the state’s Returning officer, Mr. Francis Chukwuemeka Otonta, on Monday.

Monitoring the results, Ivotesng.com noticed that the margin between the flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emeka Ihedioha, who gained victory in 11 LGAs and
the Action Alliance, with Uche Nwosu, trailing Ihedioha with victory in 10 LGAs is too close.
