Kogi state government may soon start to discard its political appointees that performed woefully at the just concluded general elections.
This was revealed by the Chief of staff to Governor Yahaya Bello, Edward Onoja, in a Facebook comment.
Mr Onoja wrote: “We may begin to analyze people’s performance at the polls from their units and Wards to LG vis-à-vis the vantage Government Positions and offices they occupy.”
“Enough of all these eye service with Zero electoral value. If your immediate family and Kinsmen don’t believe in you or your leadership. How on earth do you expect the entirety of KOGI?! It’s time to publish some people’s performance at the polls,” he added.
Ivoteng.com gathered that the Governor was not happy with the appointees from the western part of the state. He was specifically not happy with the emergence of Senator Dino Melaye, as the winner of the February 23rd senatorial election.
Although appointees from Kogi west had underperformed in the February 23rd election, they did well in the March 9th election that saw the emergence of 7 APC state House of Assembly members.
