Following the building collapse that killed and injured many school pupils at Ita-faji in Lagos state, President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, charged the state’s governor, Akinwunmi Ambode to do everything within his power to avoid a repetition of such catastrophic accident in the state.
In a statement disclosed by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Buhari sympathized with the parents and relations of the deceased, and wished them God’s comfort. He also wished the injured speedy and complete recovery.
President Buhari equally commiserated with the government and good people of Lagos State, and pledged assistance of the Federal Government as may be required by the state.
He said: “It touches one to lose precious lives in any kind of mishap, particularly those so young and tender. May God grant everyone affected by this sad incident fortitude and succour.”
