BudgiT, a civic technology organization, has called on the Senate President Bukola Saraki, to provide a more detailed document containing “financial figures” for all lined item.
While thanking Senator Bukola Saraki, for the swift release of the details of the 2018 National Assembly Budget, the organization said it has perused the released document; and it is just “a tip of the iceberg.”
In a reaction to the Senate president via its verified twitter handle, BudgiT also noted that it was not “fully satisfied” with the document, which it said was “full of grey areas.”
“Thank you for the release of NASS 2018 budget ‘details’. That was less than 24 hours after our dialogue session. Impressive!
“As we appreciate your commitment to #OpenNASS especially by making it a standing policy, we have some observations.
“We’ve perused the released document; it’s a tip of the iceberg.
“What SP @bukolasaraki has done is a right step in the direction of transparency & accountability, which we’ve reached a new resolution with him, and that’s making #OpenNASS a standing policy of @nassnigeria.
“However, we’re not fully satisfied in that the released doc is full of grey areas. The details aren’t detailed. The line items are devoid of financial figures.
“PS. It is not enough to see what goes to @NGRSenate, @HouseNGR and whatnot. A full breakdown of figures is #OpenNASS.”
