An Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Yomi Shogunle, has said that another way of avoiding being killed by Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is not to speak Queen’s English to police officers.
Shogunle who heads the Police Public Complaints Response Unit (PPCRU) said Nigerians should instead address Policemen in pidgin English when they are stopped
He stated this on Wednesday in a tweet quoting Tunji Disu’s video where he was addressing members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos.
He wrote: “For now don’t go and be speaking Queen’s English with them on the road. For proper understanding, talk to them in pidgin, another way to avoid Kasala.”
Ivotesng.com reports that at least 3 young Nigerians have been killed by men of the dreaded SARS in the last few weeks.
Nice one 👍.
Lagos State will be calm if police chiefs in #Lagos do more of this.
