Dino Melaye, Senator representing Kogi west in the National Assembly, has decried the lack of welfare for permanent secretaries in Kogi state.
The Lawmaker condemned what he described as “pathetic” to see a staff member as senior as a permanent secretary having to get to work on “Okada”.
In a short message from his Twitter handle, the Senator said the situation has never been this bad under previous governments.
Melaye said the government has not provided official cars for permanent secretaries, yet it could afford Jeeps for thugs and masquerades.
Melaye wrote: “It is so pathetic to see a permanent secretary in Kogi coming to work and going back on Okada. This is most unacceptable and it was not so in the previous administration in Kogi State. No official car for perm secs while thugs and masquerades drive jeeps courtesy, Yahaya Bello.”
