A 31-year-old Lawmaker from Ibarapa East constituency in Oyo State, Debo Ogundoyin, has emerged as the speaker of the state House of Assembly.
The House unanimously elected the young Lawmaker.
It is worthy of note that, Ogundoyin was first elected into the Assembly in 2018 after the death of the speaker of the Assembly, Michael Adeyemo from Ibarapa East.
Olagunju Ojo from Oriire constituency in Ogbomoso was elected speaker after Adeyemo’s demise.
The Ninth Assembly in the state is dominated by the Peoples Democratic Party with 26 out of the 32 members, whereas the former ruling party, All Progressives Congress, has five Lawmakers, leaving the Action Democratic Party with only one member.
