The National Assembly will get new set of leaders today after the Inauguration of the Ninth Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed former Senate Leader, Ahmed Lawan, for the position of Senate presidency and the majority leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, for Speakership.
However, contenders like senator Mohammed Ali Ndume and Umar Bago are resilient and have insisted on contesting for Senate Presidency and Speakership respectively.
In 2015, the APC anointed Lawan and Gbajabiamila for these positions but Dr. Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara outsmarted the fold.
The APC has held several meetings with the Senator-Elects and House of Rep-Elects ahead of the Inauguration, but will they be able to pull it off this time?
