Gbajabiamila Cuts Short Tanzania Trip Over Xenophobic Attacks On Nigerians In S.A, To Recall Reps From Recess

The speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, says the leadership of the Green chamber will consider cutting short recess for one day to address the recent killings of Nigerians in South Africa.

The Speaker who is currently in Tanzania for the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference said that he will cut short the trip and return to Nigeria today.

Gbajabiamila in a message from his Facebook space, said: “Will be cutting short my trip to Tanzania for the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference @CPA_Secretariat and will be leaving today, for the leadership of the @HouseNGR to consider cutting short the recess and reconvening for one day to address the killings of Nigerians in SA‬.”

Ivotesng.com reported that XENOPHOBIA attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa resurfaced on Sunday.

As usual, it was another killing and looting spree for the South Africans.

Reacting to the incident, the Federal Government has said it will consider “definitive measures” to put the recurrent evil on hold.

The government also summoned the High Commissioner of Nigeria to South Africa for explanations.
