About five notable aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have stepped down for Capt. Idris Wada, ahead of the party primaries scheduled to hold today.
Addressing a press conference in the early hours of today, Alh Sule Iyaji, Arch. Gabriel Aduku and Robert Audu said the intentions of the aspirants to step down for Capt. Wada was based on his experience.
speaking on behalf of the
aspirants, Arch Aduku urged all the delegates of the aspirants that stepped down their aspiration to vote for Capt Idris Wada, assuring that he has what it takes to bail the state from it precarious situation.
The Elder statesmen said their decision to intervene now was to allow for unity, and a rancor free primaries.
While noting that all the aspirants were eminently qualified to be governors, Aduku said the aspirants resolved to collapse their structures for the aspiration of Capt. Idris Wada, after a painstaking screening exercise.
Those he mentioned to have stepped down include; AVM Salihu Atawodi, Dr. Victor Adoji, Mohammed Shaibu Tettes, Emmanuel Omebije, and Grace Adejoh.
Arch Aduku disclosed that another term for Capt Idris Wada to complete the good works he started in his first term will be a welcomed development.
He thanked the aspirants for their decision and understanding to make sacrifices in the interest of the state.
Meanwhile, a statement released by Victor Adoji’s media unit revealed that he was not part of the aspirants that stepped down.
