Courts in the country will remain shut as the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has insisted that its strike action will continue under its demands are met.
The workers are demand of the implementation of autonomy for the judiciary as enshrined in the 1999 constitution and executive order 10 which has signed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020.
In a circular to its members, the leadership of the union inform the members of a nationwide protest which will hold simultaneously in the 36 states as well as the FCT.
The circular which was signed by JUSUN deputy secretary, P. Nnamani Esq. also encouraged the workers to be resolute amid threat by state governors.
The statement reads in Full:
Pleased to inform you that the Comrade President of the Union, Marwa
Mustapha Adamu, mni is full of appreciatton to the spirit of comradeship and
solidanty exhibited this ongoing industrial action.
You are by this notice pice informed thay the industrial acaion continues as the
Federal Govermment and the Governors are yet to find the grounds of meeting
with our demands.
We are aware of threats and pressue that may come from the “Governors”
but please be resolute.
Further be informed that following an emergency meeting of the NWC on the
15th April, 2021. it is agreed that the Union would organize a “peacelul protest”
in the Federal Capital, which would be replicated in the 36 State Capitals in
furtherance of our agitations, from 19 April, 2021.

representations to avoid disorder in presentation of facts.
