The Chairperson House Committee on North East Development Commission and member representing Damaturu, Gujba, Gulani, and Tarmuwa Federal Constituency of Yobe state, Hon. Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim, has distributed food items to the less privileged, as part of efforts to cushion their hardship during the month of Ramadan.
Briefing newsmen on the distribution exercise, Hon Khadija Bukar, said that the programme was aimed at contributing in her own little way to alleviating the suffering of the people in the Constituency in the area of food provisions, during this holy month of Ramadan.
She said, “I want people to know that we cannot feed everyone looking at the size of this constituency. I therefore appeal to everyone to contribute their quota in helping the less privilege.”
She also appealed to people of her constituency to use the period of Ramadan to offer special prayers to Almighty Allah to protect the state and Nigeria at large against the spread of Covid-19, as well as others diseases.
She urged people of her constituency to always support governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mallam Usman Yusuf, applauded the effort of the member for reaching out to the household at this time. He therefore called on the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously.
He added that, ” let me tell you that, in the course of her campaign, she promised to serve everyone irrespective of party affiliations and when she won the election by the grace of God, she maintained her position to be a representative of everyone resident in this constituency.”
Another beneficiary, Malama Falmata Salisu said that, commended the lawmaker for reaching out to many people irrespective of religious or political differences.
